yokohama chinatown

so i got lazy and didn’t really post last week but i got to skip work one day and go to yokohama.  the first years were at Ichikashi boot camp.  they go off to camp and learn the ropes about being a student at Ichikashi, and more importantly learn the school song.  i should have gone with them cuz i don’t know the song.  i need to get a romaji version so i can learn it before i leave Ichikashi.

while the third years went to disney sea, and i really wish i got to go with them, the second years went off to yokohama.  i actually went with them.  i’ve been to chinatown in LA, so i was excited to see chinatown in japan.  it was fun seeing the students walking around in normal clothes since all i’ve seen them in is their uniforms.

karl and i walked around, took pictures of our students, saw the sights, and had a few snacks.  it was nothing spectacular, but it did get us out of work for one day.

later, after all the students went off on their own for the day, the teachers all went out for dinner.  that was some damn good chinese food.  i had shark fin soup for the first time in my life.  i know, i know, i shouldn’t encourage the cutting off of sharks’ fins, but i didn’t realize it until after i had two bowls of it.
